ABPP serves the public by promoting the provision of quality psychological services through the examination and certification of professional psychologists engaged in specialty practice. ABPP is the primary organization for Specialty Board Certification in Psychology. There are currently 15 Specialty Boards and one Subspecialty Board

Linda Carter Sobell, PhD, ABPP
Dr. Linda Carter Sobell is the President’s Distinguished Professor of Excellence at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. She is nationally and internationally known for her research in the addictions field, particularly for her application of Motivational Interviewing and Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology in group therapy as well as her development of the Timeline Followback method for assessing alcohol and other drugs.
Erin Andrews, PsyD, ABPP
Erin E. Andrews, PsyD, ABPP is the Psychology Program Manager for the Veterans Health Administration VISN 17 Telemental Health Clinical Resource Hub. She is an Associate Professor (affiliated) in the Department of Psychiatry at Dell Medical School, the University of Texas at Austin. She is Board Certified in Rehabilitation Psychology.
Michael C. Gottlieb, PhD, ABPP
Dr. Gottlieb practices forensic psychology in Dallas, Texas. He is Board Certified in Family Psychology [American Board of Professional Psychology] and is a Fellow of the American Psychology/Law Society as well as four other divisions of the American Psychological Association. He is a Clinical Professor at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he teaches professional ethics.
Jeffrey E. Barnett, PsyD, ABPP
Jeffrey E. Barnett, Psy.D., ABPP is a licensed psychologist and is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Psychology and in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Additionally, he is a Distinguished Practitioner in Psychology of the National Academies of Practice. He also is a Professor of Psychology at Loyola University Maryland.
