Dr. Michele Galietta, the instructor for several of our courses–including our Certification in DBT–is writing daily mindfulness activities for one of the organizations she works with and we thought it would be nice to share these here as well for others who might need a little stress-relief during this time You can look for these on the daily!
Mindfulness Activity
Good Morning!
When we wake up to increasingly serious information and we are understandably worried about what’s to come in the future, one thing we can do is to use mindfulness practice to relax in our present moment.
Staying put, washing our hands, doing whatever we can do in our present environment…these can help us to influence the future. However, in the present moment, while doing those things, we still may have feelings of fear, a sense of unrest or agitation, annoyance at others, or even sadness and loneliness. Mindfulness can help us not to suffer when unpleasant feelings arise from things we cannot change or control.
Please enjoy this 10 minute mindfulness practice designed to create a sense of calm. Use it as often as you like. It’s best when practiced over and over.
Stay put and stay relaxed
Michele
