The HCR-20 is a risk assessment instrument used throughout the world to assist in the evaluation of risk for general violence. Recently, the third version of this risk assessment instrument was published. To kick off the International launch of the HCR-20 V3 a one-day conference was held at the Royal Society of Edinburgh in Scotland. In this video, taken at the launch conference, Professor Kevin Douglas, first author of the HCR-20 V3, describes the development process and the foundation for this risk assessment instrument.
Next up, Professor Douglas describes the limitations and weaknesses of the HCR-20 and how these were remedied in the third version of this instrument.
