Presenter

Dr. Sejal Parikh Foxx is a professor and counseling department chair at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has experience as an elementary and high school counselor and is the lead author in "School Counseling in the 21st Century", along with many peer-reviewed publications. In addition, Dr. Foxx is the director of the Urban School Counseling Collaborative, a partnership that advocates for professional school counselors, supports local urban schools, and informs school counseling practices to improve urban students' academic and social/ emotional experiences. Dr. Foxx teaches both doctoral and master's level courses and her particular areas of interest are school counseling, multicultural and social justice, urban education, and creating equity and access to college and career readiness. In addition, she works with interdisciplinary teams and has obtained over 3.8 million dollars in grant funding from the Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. Her areas of interest are school counseling, urban education, and college and career readiness.
