In this episode, Helen Jennings-Hood discusses her personal journey and insights that can help others if they are considering starting a doctorate program in Counselor Education and Supervision.

Helen Jennings-Hood is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) based in Wynne, Arkansas. She specializes in psychotherapy, particularly for women and individuals from the LGBTQ and trans communities, addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and the stress of high expectations. Her approach is centered on helping clients unlearn harmful messages and patterns, fostering growth, empowerment, and improved self-esteem. 

She adopts a person-centered, Rogerian treatment orientation in her practice with an intersectional feminist twist. She has practiced for over five years and holds a postgraduate degree from Arkansas State University. Her practice, The Daring Space, offers private therapy services.

Helen is an aspiring researcher, presents frequently at counseling conferences, is the co-chair of the Ethics Committee for the Arkansas Counseling Association, and is a current doctorate student in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of the Cumberlands.
