About Margaret and Lisa:

Dr. Margaret Lamar is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Program at Palo Alto University. She is the Clinical Mental Health Program coordinator and advisor of PAU’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. She is a licensed professional counselor with a background in university and clinical mental health counseling. She researches issues in counselor education, researcher development, and working mothers. Her teaching interests include counseling professional identity, ethics, research, counseling theory, and career counseling. Dr. Lamar attended the University of North Texas and the University of Northern Colorado, while working in student affairs at both universities.

Dr. Lisa Forbes is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Counseling Program and Human Development and Family Relations Program at the University of Colorado Denver. Lisa earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with an emphasis in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado. At CU Denver, she teaches courses in human development, couples and family therapy, counseling techniques, group counseling, and practicum. Lisa’s clinical experiences include working with abused children and adolescents, women at a domestic violence shelter, and adults in inpatient psychiatric hospitals. Her research interests are working mothers, deliberate practice, reflective practice, problematic student behavior, and the supervisory relationship.
