Marvin Acklin, PhD
Marvin W. Acklin is a board-certified clinical, assessment and forensic psychologist practicing in Honolulu Hawaii since 1989. After moving to Hawaii to take a job as Chief Psychologist at the Queen’s Medical Center in 1988, he has been in full time practice in Honolulu since 1990 in clinical psychology and civil and criminal forensic psychology and neuropsychology. He is a practicing psychotherapist and has conducted over 3000 psychological evaluations, over 700 court ordered forensic mental health evaluations, and 325 child custody evaluations in state, Federal, military and immigration circuits. Dr. Acklin has been qualified as an expert witness in the areas of custody evaluations and forensic psychological evaluations over 250 times. He has published over 70 peer reviewed articles and chapters in assessment psychology and forensic psychological assessment and presented at national conferences in personality assessment and forensic psychology. He has presented at the national and international meetings of SPA since 1984. Dr. Acklin is a Fellow of three divisions of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Personality Assessment. He serves on several editorial boards and conducts an ongoing program of applied clinical research. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry in the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu. He lectures at the University of Hawaii schools of law and medicine.
