Lyndsay Brooks, PsyD

Lyndsay Brooks, Psy.D. is a psychologist licensed in the states of Texas and California. Dr. Brooks earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University. She completed an APA-accredited internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and received her postdoctoral training in an APA-accredited fellowship at Loma Linda VA within the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her training and professional work have focused on providing psychological services and conducting psychological and forensic evaluations in hospital and inpatient settings, as well as providing supervision and training to graduate level students. Her areas of interest include competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility evaluations, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, clinical supervision, and general psychological assessment. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University and as an affiliate faculty member at the University of Texas. Dr. Brooks currently serves as the director of the psychology department at Austin State Hospital, where she oversees clinicians and conducts court-ordered forensic evaluations, including competency to stand trial, risk assessment, and general psychological assessment. She greatly enjoys serving the needs of the individuals receiving treatment at the hospital, providing supervision to doctoral psychology and psychiatry students, and working with members of multidisciplinary treatment teams.
