Jennifer E. Beebe, PhD
Jennifer E. Beebe is an Associate Professor at Niagara University. In addition to being a Counselor Educator, she is a National Certified Counselor as well as a Certified K-12 Professional School Counselor in New York and Hawaii. Jenifer has worked in multiple settings, such as schools, agencies, clinics, and a college counseling center. As a result, she has provided individual and group counseling to individuals across the lifespan. Her line of research has been focused on bullying, cyberbullying, and counselor development and supervision. Jennifer’s efforts also include creating prevention and education programs that address sexual assault on college campuses. Most recently, Jennifer has received a $300,000 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) to strengthen its ongoing efforts to educate about and respond to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking on campus.
She is the co-organizer of Take Back the Night, the Red Flag Campaign, and has created a curriculum to address gender-based violence in New Student Orientation at Niagara University. She also works with local schools and communities to increase awareness and education on the roles and responsibilities of the Professional School Counselor. Dr. Beebe has presented at national, regional, and state conferences on bullying, cyberbullying, vicarious trauma, supervision and training, and grief and loss. She also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision and The Professional Counselor.
