About Tahani:

Tahani Dari, Ph.D., LPC, LSC, NCC joined the UT faculty in August of 2019. Her first faculty appointment was at John Carroll University from 2017-2019. She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Toledo. Prior to that, she received a M.A. in counseling from Eastern Michigan University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Dr. Dari is a National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor and K-12 Licensed School Counselor. She has experience serving as a school counselor for K–12 students and as a practitioner in various settings. Dr. Dari’s scholarly interests are focused on advancing topics in school counseling, conducting community-based participatory research, and working with and advocating for diverse client populations (particularly youth). She has presented regionally and nationally and is published in counseling related journals. In September of 2016, Dr. Dari was appointed to serve on the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Minority Fellowship Program Advisory Council for Master’s Programs (MFPAC-Master’s).She also serves on the board of the North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. In her leisure time, Dr. Dari loves spending time with her family (which includes extended family) and traveling around the globe. She also enjoys visiting the “Big House”, Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.
