This self-paced course on Inner Resources for Stress: Mindfulness for Self Care is presented by Dr. Lynn Waelde.
This course presents a proven mindfulness and meditation training designed to improve wellness and stress resiliency. This course implements practices to enhance present moment attention and the ability to experience and let go of stress as it arises. Participants will learn a variety of mindfulness and meditation techniques, so they can choose the ones that work best for various contexts. This course demonstrates how to use mindfulness in daily life to manage stress. This course includes access to the 70-page Inner Resources for Stress Participant Manual and audio recordings of guided meditations for between-session practice.
This training program is intended for mental health and allied professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and counselors. This training program is for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level clinicians who can take the course as an optional prerequisite to the Inner Resources for Stress Facilitator Trainings. No previous mindfulness meditation experience is required.
Upon completion of this training program, participants will be able to:
Describe at least 5 mindfulness and meditation techniques
Describe how to implement mindfulness and meditation techniques
Describe how to apply mindfulness in everyday life to deal with stress as it occurs
About Dr. Lynn Waelde
Lynn C. Waelde, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Psychology Department of Palo Alto University and an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University School of Medicine. Her clinical and research interests focus on manifestations and treatment of stress disorders such as PTSD and on the therapeutic applications of meditation and mindfulness. She is the founder and Director of the Inner Resources Center, whose staff conduct psychoeducational programs, clinical interventions, professional training, and research concerning the applications of mindfulness and meditation for mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. She developed the Inner Resources meditation programs and has trained clinicians nationally and internationally to use the protocol for research and clinical practice. She has published more than 45 articles and book chapters on topics concerning trauma and mindfulness and is co-editor of a forthcoming volume about disaster mental health in Southeast Asia. She is also preparing a book about the use of mindfulness and meditation for stress and trauma.
Dr. Waelde has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in anthropology from Louisiana State University. She received her doctorate in Psychology with an emphasis in Developmental Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in New Orleans, where she completed training as a PTSD specialist. She is a lifelong practitioner of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation.

This Distance Learning Course is a Home Study Training Program. To earn CEs you are required to complete all course materials, quizzes, and the evaluation. No partial credit is available. A score of 70% is required to proceed; you will be able to re-take any quiz on which you score less than 70%. Participants will earn 10 CE hours upon completion of these requirements. Each participant will be able to download and print the CE certificate upon completion of the final evaluation.
