Please join Megan Speciale, PhD as she presents a live virtual professional training program on An Introduction to Sexuality in the Helping Professions. This free program is part of Palo Alto University's At the Forefront of Psychology & Counseling series, in which PAU experts tackle pressing and emerging issues.

This introductory event explores key sexuality concepts and their relevance across helping professions like counseling, social work, and healthcare. Attendees will gain foundational knowledge to sensitively address sexuality-related client needs, navigate ethical and cultural considerations, and advance their professional development in this crucial domain.

Outline:

  1. Introduction to Human Sexuality (15 mins) - Key terminology and concepts - Biological, psychological, and social factors
  2. Sexuality in Helping Professions (20 mins) - Common client concerns and issues - Case study/examples from different professions - Strategies for sensitive and professional approaches
