Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is a technique to help individuals process and minimize the long-term effects of trauma. EMDR conventionally takes place during an in-person therapy session and is one of the more notable treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Although with increasing interest in online counseling, there are emerging guidelines for practicing virtual EMDR and how to do EMDR remotely.
