The lecture DSM-5: Developments for Forensic Applications is presented by Christina Pietz. This course provides an overview of the changes made in the latest version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), with special attention to how these changes impact psychologists’ work in forensic matters. Also discussed are more general problems that can result from including diagnoses in reports summarizing forensic psychological examinations. Participants review reports for the purpose of discussing how changes in the DSM may affect their forensic opinions.
The fee for this training program is $300 and includes all materials. In addition, case studies and other case-relevant materials are provided for training purposes. Participants should expect to commit approximately 6 hours to complete this training program. At the end of the training program, there is a quiz that must be passed with a 70% in order to advance in the course. Once the course is completed participants will complete a course evaluation and then will be able to print their certificate of completion.
This course is relevant for psychologists–beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

About Dr. Pietz
Dr. Pietz is board certified in forensic psychology (ABPP) and has worked for the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners since 1990. In this capacity, she has conducted a wide variety of criminal forensic evaluations for federal courts, military courts, and state courts. She has served as president of the American Board of Forensic Psychology and a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Board of Professional Psychology.
