Book-Based Continuing Education Online Courses
CONCEPT Continuing and Professional Studies at Palo Alto University (PAU) offers continuing education (CE) opportunities in various formats, including book-based programs. Our CEs help professionals advance their education and remain current with state licensure requirements.
Book-Based CEs for Mental Health Professionals
CONCEPT offers exams based on the Best Practices in Forensic Mental Health Assessment Series by Oxford. The books, which can be purchased on Amazon, direct the learning objectives of each program. Board-approved credits range from five to nine credits per topic.
Why Book-Based CEs?
Book-based CEs allow mental health professionals to complete continuing education at their own pace, and the textual format makes it easy to go back and review, work in small segments at a time, and keep the information for later reference.
How Do Book-Based CEs Work?
Participants read a book in the Best Practices in Forensic Mental Health Assessment series and then follow a recorded webinar, which is based on the book associated with their CE topic. They then use the provided learning objectives to assess their understanding of the educational material and complete a webinar quiz on the book and an evaluation to earn CE credits.
