Dr. Barry Rosenfeld is a clinical forensic psychologist, whose clinical work primarily involves psychological evaluations of criminal defendants and civil litigants. These evaluations encompass a wide range of psycho-legal issues including criminal law issues (competence to stand trial, mental state at the time of the offense, malingering, risk of future violence, criminal behavior, or sexual offending) and civil law issues (psychological repercussions of injury, sexual harassment, or torture, and vocational disability due to psychological conditions).
Over the past several years he has conducted thousands of such evaluations, both in his private practice as well as in his previous capacity with Bellevue Hospital’s Forensic Psychiatry Clinic of the New York City Criminal and Supreme Courts. Dr. Rosenfeld is licensed to practice psychology in New York State and has been awarded Diplomate status by the American Board of Forensic Psychology and Fellow Status by the American Psychology-Law Society/American Psychological Association. Dr. Rosenfeld is also active in the American Psychology-Law Society (Division 41 of the American Psychological Association), the European Association of Psychology and Law, and the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services.
