Each year at the Annual Convention of the American Psychological Association, the out-going President of Division 41 (the American Psychology-Law Society) gives his or her Presidential Address as the last official Presidential duty. This year Dr. William Foote spoke about The Inuit Project, providing a great example of the integration of research and practice. This project was the result of a legal settlement after a teacher molested 80 boys throughout a number of northern hamlets in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. Dr. Foote’s address provides an interesting example of how psychological interventions can be specifically tailored to the cultural and contextual issues relevant to a group of individuals.

At the close of Dr. Foote’s address, Dr. Jennifer Skeem became the President of the American Psychology-Law Society and I became President-Elect. Next year’s APA Convention will take place in Washington, DC from August 7-10, 2014.
